Living with Stroke Programs - Newfoundland and Labrador

The Heart&Stroke Living with Stroke™ program is a community-based support and educational program designed for stroke survivors and their caregivers to gain confidence in managing the challenges of living with stroke.

The 6 to 8-week program (varies from location to location) allows you to develop new skills, make new friends and gain confidence in your ability to control your life. A healthcare professional leads the weekly, two-hour meetings that incorporate principles of self-management and are highly interactive, focusing on building skills, sharing experiences and support. The group learning sessions include discussion, videos and activities to help individuals learn more about dealing with stroke and provides tools and support to improve quality of life, reduce the risk of another stroke and help with adjustment to life after a stroke. Stroke survivors are encouraged to bring a caregiver, spouse, or friend to the sessions.

There are no fees to attend these programs, but space is limited so please register early.
